We are based in Milan and we fairly mix work and fun. But as soon as we can, we get on board to sail away.

We are now looking for:

  Media Crew & Quality Tester


As a Media Crew & Quality Tester, you will take part into holidays selected by the Sailsquare Team. You will travel from April to September in the Mediterranean and in the Northern sea, while in the Caribbean, Thailand and South America from November to February. During the months you will spend on board, you will be required to test the selected listings in order to support the Operations Team. You will also have the extremely important task of collecting material, pictures, interviews to the skippers and to the guests on board. You will be the live storyteller supporting the Marketing Team in the Milan office.

This is a huge opportunity for a dynamic person, with an extreme desire to travel all over the world and to join a successful startup thanks to a unique job position.

Sailing abilities are not required, but it is necessary to be flexible, proactive, eager to spend most of the year travelling and being on board.

Responsibilities::

  • Working tightly with the Marketing Team in order to collect and create material (reports, videos, pictures, articles).
  • Testing experiences listed on the platform, selected by the Operations Team.
  • Cooperate in a proactive way to widen the offer available.
  • Supporting communication activities in Italy, Europe and in the World.

The ideal candidate for this role is: :

  • Extremely flexible to make transfers: the candidate will be required to pack from one day to another and he/she will have to do it with enthusiasm!
  • Available to spend most time of the year on board, mainly staying on boats of Sailsquare skippers.
  • A person that has developed photography skills, either out of passion or work.
  • Able to create reports, brilliant in creative storytelling. Prior experience in editorial contents will be positively valued.
  • Passionate about travelling and able to manage independently trips and bookings.
  • Sharing economy lover, up-to-date on tourism trends.

Contract and further info:

Contract: full time. RAL: € 20-23K .

Senior Backend Developer


As Senior Backend Developer, you'll be responsible for developing most of the core features of our application, while ensuring performance, scalability and reliability of the platform. You will be part of a distributed team that uses an agile approach, eager to try new things and learn from the experience, and to build great products.

This is a great opportunity for an ambitious developer wishing to join our core team and leave a footprint in a successful story.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with our Tech Lead to define the overall architecture, choose the technology solutions and guidelines to be used or implemented;
  • Develop new and maintain existing backend services to ensure they are efficient, reliable and secure;
  • Pro-actively enhance our web platform;
  • Explore new methodologies and technologies, weigh their pros and cons and share your insights within the team.

The ideal candidate for this position is:

  • Someone with proven track record and hands-on knowledge of development of modern custom web applications (2-4 years of relevant experience);
  • Has considerable development experience with web frameworks and languages;
  • Uses testing methodologies;
  • Someone who has the ability to inspire, motivate and support people, and uses the word ‘we’ a lot more often than ‘I’;
  • Passionate about writing beautiful, clean, maintainable code (being also passionate about sailing is a strong plus), understanding the balance between scrappiness and long-term code maintainability;
  • Able to wear multiple hats, including integration with front end roles and devops;
  • Nice to have: experience with PHP - Symfony
  • A lover of open‑source software and open standards in wider terms;
  • Fluent in English (both spoken and written);

Contract and other stuff:

Contract: full time. Salary: € 30-40k + stock options.
Workplace: Milan or Genoa (Italy).
Full-remote not possible.

As Frontend Developer, you'll be responsible for developing most of the front-end of our website, while ensuring performance, usability and reliability. You will be part of a distributed team that uses an agile approach, eager to try new things and learn from the experience, and to build great products.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with an interdisciplinary team of developers, product owners and designers to produce an high quality product;
  • Develop high quality interfaces and interactions, translating requirements and mockups into fully functionable features;
  • Help us deliver fantastic UI by maintaining a base of reusable components;
  • Pro-actively enhance our web platform;
  • Explore new methodologies and technologies, weigh their pros and cons and share your insights within the team.

The ideal candidate for this position is:

  • Someone with deep (3+ years), hands-on knowledge of modern front-end web development practices;
  • With a considerable development experience with modern custom web applications;
  • Able to develop pixel perfect layouts;
  • Someone who has the ability to inspire, motivate and support people, and uses the word ‘we’ a lot more often than ‘I’;
  • Passionate about writing beautiful, clean, maintainable code (being also passionate about sailing is a strong plus), understanding the balance between scrappiness and long-term code maintainability;
